All-Stars Cannot Hold On In Last Two Minutes
The All-Stars were leading by two at half, and led by as much as 43-35 in the second half, but a succession of several key turnovers caused the gap to close and Converse was never able to gain the momentum they had. Converse attempted to close the gap late in the second half but ended up short losing to Southern Poly 71-62 on Wednesday night in Weisiger Center.
The All-Stars shot a lot better from behind the three-point line tonight sinking 4-of 6 in the first half and shooting 46.2% for the game. The All-Stars fell short from behind the free throw line only making 10-of 21 shooting 47.6% which is way below their average. The All-Stars had a strong performance offensively by Melissa Bunce who led the team with 17 points and eight rebounds. Melissa Ballard scored 10 points and hit 2-of 3 three-pointers.
Southern Poly’s Lindsay Murphy led all squads with 20 points.
The All-Stars will play host to Lees Mcrae on Monday night at 7:00PM in Weisiger Center.
