Bunce Has Her Third Double-Double Of The Season
Converse’s a href=”https://www.converse.edu/webStudentsAthletics/basketball/StudentFactPages/2003-2004/BunceMelissa.html”> Melissa Bunce scored 17 points and had 14 rebounds but that was not enough to lift the All-Stars over the Crusaders. Belmont Abbey defeated the All-Stars 108-69.
The All-Stars fell back pretty early going (0-6) and only shooting 23.5% in the first half. The Crusaders held a comfortable 43-25 lead at the break. Belmont Abbey was almost unstoppable in the second half shooting 68.6% from the field and shooting 64.3% from behind the arc. The All-Stars only shot 36.1% from the field and 28.6% from behind the arc. Tonight the Crusaders were on and the All-Stars were not.
Belmont Abbey was just too quick for us, we just were not able to match their speed, said Coach Coil. “It’s easy to shoot 68% from the field when all you are shooting is layups, but Belmont Abbey was also hitting everything from outside as well. It was just one of those games when we could do very little right and our opponent was doing everything right.”
The All-Stars will host Tusculum College on Thursday, December 4th at 7:00PM in Weisiger Center weather permitting.
