All Stars Volleyball Win Tournament On A High Note
The All Stars are currently 6-10 after this weekend’s tournament at Southern Virginia University. Friday night the All Stars took on Mountain State University. They defeated MSU in three sets 30-20, 30-23, 30-15.
Tia Felder and Lauren Mueller each had 7 kills. Setter Brittney Ogez had an amazing 33 assists, while Katie Boyd added 9 digs.
Later on that evening the All Stars played host team Southern Virginia University. The All Stars took a hard loss in three sets 21-30, 22-30, 20-30.
On Saturday the Converse volleyball ladies came focused and ready, they knew that the tournament was not over. The All Stars started off the day by playing Sweet Briar College. It was a sweet win in three sets 30-17, 30-11, 30-23. Brittney Ogez set the team up with 25 assists. Katie Boyd had 9 digs and Lauren Muller led the team with 4 blocks.
The All Stars were where they wanted to be in the championship game. They were going to be facing SVU, whom they lost to on Friday night. The girls had a strategy and they stuck to it! The All stars won in 4 sets 30-19, 29-31, 30-13, 30-21. Tia Felder led the team with 11 kills, Brittney Ogez had 41 assists, Lauren Muller had 7 blocks and Katie Boyd had 18 digs.
This was the Converse All Stars first tournament win this season. Tia Felder was named MVP, Lauren Muller and Katie Boyd were named onto the All Tournament Team. The Converse All Stars will be playing Tuesday September 23rd at Newberry College.
