All Star Volleyball Goes Undefeated At Home Classic
Saturday September 27, 2003 All Stars Go Undefeated at Home Tournament! All Star volleyball hosted its first volleyball classic this season. The All Stars defeated Taccoa Falls on Friday night in 3 sets. This put the girls in a great position on Saturday to be confident and well prepared for the rest of the matches in the Tournament on Saturday.
The All Stars started off their first game at 10:00a.m. against Columbia College. The girls won in 3 sets 30-12, 30-17, and 30-22. Lauren Mueller led the team with 11 kills, Leslie Shain contributed 33 assists and 8 digs, while Hannah Roach and Sarah Inalloo each put up 4 blocks a piece.
The All Stars played next at 2:00p.m. against Spartanburg Methodist College. Again the girls put the game away in 3 sets, 30-18, 30-11, and 30-18. Converse had all around great team play. All of the girls contributed to an exciting winning game against rival SMC.
In the final game Saturday night the Converse All Stars took control of the entire tournament by beating Pitt Community College winning in 3 sets, 30-15, 30-17, and 30-15. Leslie Shain had 11 kills, Brittney Ogez contributed 35 assists and 5 digs along with Michelle Sloan, and Lauren Mueller aided with 5 blocks.
