Converse Volleyball Inks Six
SPARTANBURG-Converse College Head Volleyball Coach Chris Parker recently announced the commitments of six players for the 2003 Volleyball squad. Michelle Sloan, Lauren Mueller, Sarah Javdan-Inaloo, Paige Pressley, and Brittney Ogez have signed the National Letter of Intent while Erin Knipfer has committed to transfer from the College of Charleston.
Sloan is a 5-8 outside hitter from Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was a dual sport standout playing both volleyball and softball at Byrnes High School. She also played for Club South Volleyball Club in Spartanburg. Sloan was chosen as “Herald Journal Player of the Year” in softball and will participate in the North/South All-Star Softball Game in Florence on June 9th and 10th.
Mueller is a 6-1 middle blocker from Foley, Alabama. She also was a dual sport athlete in basketball and volleyball at Foley High School. Mueller was voted to the Alabama All-State 2nd Team for volleyball in 2002 and was named “Gatorade Player of the Year”.
Javdan-Inaloo is a 5’8 outside hitter from Pickens High School where she also ran track.
Pressley is a 6-0 middle blocker from Robbinsville, North Carolina, where she played both basketball and volleyball for Robbinsville High School. She will be playing on the Converse basketball team in the winter.
Ogez is a 5-10 setter from Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 2002, she was named All-Conference and Academic All-Conference while being named Team MVP by her teammates.
Knipfer is a 5-8 right side hitter from Spartanburg, South Carolina. Before spending a year at the College of Charleston, she was a part of the Dorman South Carolina State Volleyball Champion team in 2000 and 2001.
