Converse struggled in 40 minutes of play as their opponent Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) rallied in points. The All-Stars lost 50-90, as they fell to 2-18 for the season.
In the first half of play, FGCU jumped to a 8-0 lead. The All-Stars seemed rattled as they went 0-5 from the floor until Melissa Ballard sank a 3 ptr. with 15:49 left on the clock. Scoring slowly, the half ended at 15-43 with a 28-point deficit. The All-Stars only connected for 6-of-22 fg (27%) as FGCU shot 17-of-35 (49%) from the floor.
Again starting slowly, 8:22 ran off the clock before Ballard hit a jumper to make the score 17-52. With several defensive stops, Converse could not use it to their advantage as turnovers hindered their comeback, and FGCU ran up the score.
Converse ended the game with 21 turnovers, but improved their shooting to 46% in the second half and 39% for the game. Lindsey Parker added another double double for the season as she scored 18 points and pulled 10 rebounds, while Ballard added 16 points. Robyn Swain who contributed 16 points and 14 rebounds led FGCU.
