Ballard Earns Player of the Week

Melissa Ballard, a 5’7″ shooting guard from Saluda, N.C. was honored for her outstanding performance as she received player of the week accolades for her play against Emmanuel and Newberry Colleges. Ballard will be honored January 17th at Spartanburg’s local YMCA as South Carolina coach Dave Odom is scheduled to be the guest speaker.

Ballard had 23 points (5-of-10 on 3-pointers) in a 72-61 loss to Emmanuel and had 16 points in a 93-80 loss to Newberry College. She leads all scorers with a 16.7 ppg average and has hit 53-of-67 free throws for a .791 percentage.
