Converse College head volleyball coach Angela Kearns announced the early signing of middle blocker Lauren Mueller to a National Letter of Intent on Tuesday.
Mueller, a 6’1″ senior from Foley, Alabama, is a two-sport standout at Foley High School excelling at basketball but will only participate in volleyball at Converse.
“Lauren will bring much needed depth to the middle position,” Kearns said. “We lost Rebekah Gillespie to graduation and bringing in Lauren will increase our offensive position to a stronger level then it has ever been.”
Her work ethic is phenomenal, and she is an outstanding student-athlete,” Kearns said.
This past season, Mueller, who carries a 3.9GPA, tallied 422 kills with a .450 attack percentage, had 207 total blocks, and 49 aces. She was voted Most Valuable Player on her team, received All-County and second-team all-state accolades. For her career Mueller hit a .422 attack percentage, had 962 kills and 624 total blocks. She was also the recipient of the 2001 Gatorade Will to Win Athlete and is a member of National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
