Williams Receives All-Tournament Recognition

Junior setter Gretchen Williams, a 3-year starter for the Converse All-Stars, received top honors at the Catawba College Tournament, as she was one of only 7 all-tournament selections.
Williams, a native of Camden, SC has been the All-Star’s primary setter since her start at Converse in 2000. Only missing a total of 10 matches in two years, Williams has stepped up and become the “quarterback” behind the offense.
This season alone, Williams has started in all 17 matches (48 games) and averages a team-high 7.1 assists per game and .307 hitting percentage (53k-9e-143a). She’s also collected 26 aces (.54pg), 71 digs (1.5pg), and 40 blocks (.83).
Williams has recorded 2 double-doubles already this season. The first vs. Anderson College on September 4th, where she had 32 assists and 11 digs. The second on September 11th vs. Lincoln Memorial College she had 30 assists and 11 digs
