Converse Volleyball Opens Up Undefeated At Home

Spartanburg, SC – Converse College Volleyball opened up Saturday defeating Belmont Abbey, Pitt Community and Spartanburg Methodist in three straight matches at the first-ever Converse College Volleyball Quad Match. The All-Stars won an unprecedented 9 straight games with Belmont Abbey being the only team to come in close scoring 21 points.

Leading the way for Converse was Junior setter, Gretchen Williams (Camden, SC), who last week was named to the Catawba All-Tournament team. Williams registered 78 assists, 2 blocks, 12 digs, 7 aces and 10 kills. Freshman Leslie Shain (Joliet, IL) made her home debut with 22 digs, 13 aces, and 20 kills.

The All-Stars are currently 7-2 overall and will face Lincoln Memorial University September 11 at home at 7PM.
