Converse Attends Higher Education Day at the State House

In early April, Converse leaders and students traveled to Columbia, SC, to represent the University at the SCICU Higher Education Statehouse Day. Converse President Boone J. Hopkins and Converse students connected with representatives and expressed our gratitude for the General Assembly’s continued support of the S.C. Tuition Grants need-based financial aid program. Guests from more than 30 colleges and universities across South Carolina were in attendance. 

SCICU Higher Education Statehouse Day recognizes the value of higher education while emphasizing the importance of it being both accessible and affordable. Participants had the opportunity to meet with state senators and representatives, and give thanks for the support of need-based aid that makes earning a college degree possible for thousands of South Carolinians.
