Cavani in Concert at Converse
The Cavani String Quartet will perform at Converse College Monday, March 17 in Daniel Recital Hall. The concert, which begins at 8 pm, is the third performance of the 2007-2008 season for the Carlos Moseley Chamber Music Series.
Now in its 25th season, the Series is presented by the Friends of the Petrie School of Music at Converse College. The Series presents three concerts each season featuring leading chamber ensembles. In addition to receiving the Naumburg Award, the Cavani Quartet has been a top prize-winner in numerous competitions including the Coleman, Fischoff, the Banff International, and the Cleveland Quartet Competition. Since their New York debut in 1987, they have won the hearts of audiences across the country with their soulful and riveting performances. In 2005, the Cavani Quartet became the first recipient of the Guarneri String Quartet Residency Award from Chamber Music America. They will perform String Quartet Op. 18, #2 in G Major by Beethoven; String Quartet No. 2, Op. 56 by Szymanowski; and String Quartet Op. 10 in G Minor by Debussy.
