Festival of Lessons and Carols to be Held at Converse Nov. 29
Converse College and the Upstate community will enjoy a beautiful holiday tradition when the annual student-led Festival of Lessons & Carols is held in Twichell Auditorium, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. For more information, call (864) 596-9078. The event is free and open to the public.
Lessons and Carols has become a tradition at Converse, and is a service of worship involving all segments of the local community. The 2007 festival, which is free and open to the public, will include more traditional Christmas songs than in previous years. The setting will include luminaries lining the front campus, and two Christmas trees on the Twichell stage. The Converse Chorale will perform and lead the congregational singing of traditional carols and hymns between verses of the Christmas story, which will be read by Converse students. The Converse Wind Ensemble, the Converse Chamber Singers and the Spartanburg Festival Chorus will also perform.
Funds from the sale of the luminaries will be given to the Spartanburg-based Divinity Care Facilities.
