Spartanburg, S.C.— The Converse College Basketball team has announced game promotions and special events for the 2007-08 season. Included in the festivities is a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness on January 26th. Converse has also joined to with the NCAA to host a ‘Bring a Kid to the Game’ night on November 24th vs. Pfieffer.
The first two events are Car-Washes which will be held on September 8th and 22nd. On October 6th the team will participate in a free throw-a-thon. Supporters will be able to pledge a monetary amount per free throw made.
On Sunday October 14th, the team will officially tip-off the season with a Midnight Madness Celebration at 12:01 am (October 15th). The celebration will include a meet and greet as well as prizes and giveaways.
On December 6th, Converse College students and supporters will ‘Jam the Gym’. This event is sponsored by Converse’s Student Athletic Association.
February 9th will be the final regular season home game of the 2007-08 season. It will also serve as the Senior Night for Converse’s sole senior, Myra Hendley.
