2006-2007 Chamber Music Series Opens Nov. 13
The St. Lawrence String Quartet will open the 2006-2007 Friends of the Petrie School of Music/Carlos Moseley Chamber Music Series on November 13, 2006.
Fans of Charles Wadsworth’s Dock Street Theatre concerts during the Spoleto Festival will recognize St. Lawrence as participants for the last several years. Founded in Toronto in 1989, the St. Lawrence String Quartet has established itself among the world-class chamber ensembles of its generation. They serve as Ensemble-in-Residence at Stanford University. Their performances are described as “a conversation with three of your closest friends — and each person speaks through a stringed instrument. The intimacy of the conversation is realized in the performance by a string quartet, composed of two violins, a viola and a cello.”
The Carlos Moseley Chamber Music Series presents three concerts each season featuring leading chamber ensembles. Also performing this season are The King’s Singers on Feb. 12, 2007 and the Kavafian-Schub-Shifrin Trio on April 9, 2007. Each concert is at 8:00 p.m. in Daniel Recital Hall on the Converse College campus.
