Festival of Lessons and Carols to be Held at Converse College Dec. 1st
Converse College and the Upstate community of South Carolina will enjoy a beautiful holiday tradition when the annual student-led Festival of Lessons & Carols is held in Twichell Auditorium, Dec. 1st at 8 p.m.
Over the years, Lessons and Carols has become a tradition at Converse, and is a service of worship involving all segments of the local community. The setting will include luminaries lining the front campus, and two Christmas trees on the Twichell stage. The Converse Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Susan Lyle, will perform and lead the congregational singing of traditional carols and hymns between verses of the Christmas story, which will be read by Converse students.
Funds raised by the purchase of the luminaries will be sent to Piedmont Community Actions, Inc., and will be designated for the organization’s Low Income Energy Assistance Program.
