An exclusive reunion for all graduates of the School of Music at Converse College will be held Jan. 28-29, 2005. The reunion is an extraordinary opportunity for participants to not only reunite with fellow music alumni, but also to see and talk with their former professors. Highlights of the reunion include a performance by the Converse Opera Theatre and the Greater Spartanburg Philharmonic, an alumni recital, and a reception honoring current and former professors of the School of Music.
“While a typical reunion is normally exclusive to graduates of a certain class, this reunion is an opportunity for alumni to meet and talk with students who came through the music program at Converse before or after them,” said Dr. Joseph Hopkins, Dean of the Petrie School of Music. “We have also made a concerted effort to invite former School of Music faculty-going as far back as the 1940s-and the response from them has been outstanding. There have been quite a number of former music professors whom have expressed their genuine excitement about the opportunity to reminisce with their students.”
