The Family Orientation sessions occur during:
SOAR – Summer Orientation and Registration (required of all new students)
While your student is advised and registered for the fall classes, there will be a number of sessions for Families where we will provide you with a foundation of basic information, the opportunity to interact with key administrators and answers to any questions.
Both summer SOAR sessions are identical, so there is no need to attend both. Attendance is optional for Families but highly encouraged.
Fall move-in days for our First Generation Students (Trailblazers), New Students and Transfer Students.
Upperclass students, Converse Faculty and Staff will assist you and your family with the move-in process. Students will pick up their room keys and once they are unpacked, will then begin their Orientation at Converse.
Families are invited to attend informational sessions to have last minute questions answered, as well as meet the Division of Student Development and Success staff and Academic Deans. Families are then welcome to attend Opening Assembly in Twichell Auditorium, the first time your student processes with her classmates.
After a reception with the President, families will say a final goodbye to their students who are eagerly awaiting the start of their new journeys.
Complete information regarding dates and details regarding Family Orientation sessions will be emailed prior to the events.
Dress for Family Orientation is informal and relaxed since these are move-in days.
