Student Self-Governance

student self governance

One of Converse’s fundamental distinctions is how students influence and impact the experiences here. One of the best ways to achieve that is by participating in student government.

The Student Government Association (SGA) at Converse represents all interests within our diverse community—from musicians to mathematicians, and athletes to artists—and links them to the Administration. As a member of SGA (every student is!), you’re welcome at the weekly meetings or to get more involved. You can serve on the Executive Committee, the Senate or the President’s Council for Organizations. There are also elected Class Officers with specific areas of interest.

Two student-led judicial boards, Civitas and the Honor Board, help govern adherence to Community Values and our Honor Tradition. Our students have been signing an Honor Pledge since 1916. Upholding these values is a cornerstone of how we live our lives, and a powerful tool to guide us into the future.

Getting involved in any of these committees or boards is a great way to have a positive impact.
