Professor Eggerding Presents at SC Music Therapy Conference
Assistant Professor of Music Therapy Liz Eggerding, MS, MT-BC, presented a three-hour continuing music therapy education course on arts-based inquiry and therapeutic presence for the Music Therapy Association of South Carolina at their fall meeting in Columbia. This presentation was based on literature and Professor Eggerding’s data collection and analysis for her dissertation, currently titled “Therapeutic Presence in Music Therapy Education”.
Seven Converse music therapy students also attended the meeting as part of Converse’s ‘Creativity That Works’ initiative. Students in Converse’s School of the Arts gain professional experience through internships, faculty-mentored research projects in arts fields, and other opportunities such as workshops and conferences.
