Education Senior Wins CIC/UPS Scholarship

Luci Martinez-Olivares ’23 is one of only 21 students selected to receive a Council of Independent Colleges (CIC)/UPS Scholarship through South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (SCICU). The CIC/UPS Educational Endowment has provided more than $1.4 million in student scholarships to support student success at private colleges and universities.

Martinez-Olivares, a first-generation student and mentor at Converse, is majoring in Early Childhood Studies, Hispanic Studies, and Child and Family Studies with a minor in French. She is involved in Student Government Senate at Converse and is the social media representative for Converse’s Hispanic Organization for Latinx Awareness (HOLA).
