Converse Senior Takes 1st Place Award for Research
Susannah Evelyn Johnson ’02 was recognized during the 18th annual student research forum at East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine for her research on Atherosclerosis. Her research project was titled “The activation of Matrix Metalloproteinases by Mast Cell Serine Proteases.”
She won first place for the Student Choice Award for her research, and first place for the undergraduate division competition after presenting her research to Quillen College of Medicine faculty and ETSU faculty. She was congratulated by former US Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders.
