Students Blend Science and Art for Research Project
Biochemistry major Jordyn Welcher ’21 (Nisbet Honors) and Biology & Chemistry major Emilee Wolfe ’23 (Nisbet Honors) presented their research titled “Examining Rare Earth Elements as Alternatives in Glaze Chemistry: A Safer, Vibrant Alternative for Ceramicists” at the South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (SCICU) Undergraduate Student/Faculty Research Symposium.
Their mentors were Assistant Professor of Art, Mary Carlisle, and Chair of Biology, Chemistry & Physics Department, Dr. Will Case.
