Capital Projects
Capital projects support the upkeep and preservation of the Converse University campus and its buildings. The evolving needs of our students and community require ongoing renovations, upgrades and expansions on the Converse campus.
Current Projects
Milliken Art and Design
Projected enhancements include:
- Updates to aging mechanical infrastructure
- Enhanced water drainage and humidity control
- Improving space usage to support program growth through flexible classroom design and adjusted floor plan
- Update lighting to include additional windows for natural light sources
- Enhanced building security and accessibility
- Expanded gallery and reception spaces including the addition of new tiered outdoor seating
- Revamp the overall aesthetic of the building’s interior, including paint, millwork, and ceilings
The Montgomery Student Center Pool
Projected enhancements include:
- Replacement of fire suppression sprinkler system
- Structural repair and repainting of interior roof
- Replacement of mechanical system (phase two)
The Marsha H. Gibbs Field House Expansion
Projected enhancements include:
The addition of a two-story structure off of the existing Marsha H. Gibbs Field House will provide:
- 12k square ft of space to support program growth
- New athletic strength and conditioning room
- Additional locker rooms for visiting team and coaches’ offices
- New student athletic lounge, expanded athletic communications box and new wall of recognition
- Additional parking and enhanced navigation to the field
