Professor Zeisler Wins Chapman Cultural Center Grant

Assistant Professor of Art Therapy Laura Zeisler won a community grant from the Chapman Cultural Center. The grant will support a community-engaged photography project. Professor Zeisler created this project, titled Snapshots of Resiliency: A Community Response to COVID-19, to reduce social isolation through intergenerational documentation of the pandemic’s narrative.

She has established a community partnership with local agencies interested in participating in the project including:

• Spartanburg Regional Housing Authority
• Archibald Apartments
• Prince Hall
• Eden Terrace

Students in Converse’s Art Therapy Program will be invited to participate in the photography project. Professor Zeisler also hopes the entire Converse community will participate as well by documenting this time in the college’s history.
