Dr. Joe Dunn to Serve as Converse College 2019-2020 Grand Marshal

Converse is excited to announce that Dr. Joe Dunn, Charles A. Dana Professor of History and Politics, and chair of History and Politics, was nominated by faculty and selected by the President to serve as Grand Marshal. For the 2019-2020 school year, Dr. Dunn will lead the academic procession bearing the Converse Mace during formal convocations, including Commencement.

The Grand Marshal is a position of high honor and precedes the other two marshals in processions and recessions while carrying the College Mace. The selection of the Grand Marshal takes into account the outstanding teaching and professional accomplishments of the individual, as well as the service to the college, awards and recognitions received, and the time the person has served at Converse College.
