Milliken Gallery to Host "The Fishing Series, Tea Bowls and Other Series" by Zacharias
Visit Milliken Art Gallery between November 3 – December 1 to enjoy a large collection of ceramics created by Converse faculty member David Zacharias. The “Fishing Series, Tea Bowls and Other Series” exhibition will showcase a variety of ceramics and abstract paintings by the artist. Gallery hours are Monday—Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday 2:00—5:00 pm (closed during school holidays).
On Thursday, November 3, at 6:00 pm in the Milliken Art Gallery, a Gallery Talk with Artist David Zacharias will include discussions of his career and art process. The Gallery Talk will be followed by the opening reception at 6:30 pm. The exhibit and events are free and open to the public.
“Fishing Series, Tea Bowls and Other Series” will have visitors exploring Zacharias’s many talents. The ceramics will include work from his Fishing Series, Industrial Series, Lizard Jars and Tea Bowls.
Since completing his MFA in ceramics and sculpture from the University of South Carolina, Zacharias has amassed an impressive solo and group exhibition record. He has taught all levels of ceramics at Converse and in 2001, he was the inaugural recipient of the O’Herron Faculty Excellence Award.
