Winner of both the Ella Fitzgerald International Jazz Vocal Competition and Down Beat Magazine’s Rising Star Female Vocalist of the Year, April Varner brings passion and panache to the gems of the jazz songbook. Her swinging partner is the Australian-born jazz pianist Konrad Pazsudski, about whom no less of a jazz authority than Wynton Marsalis raves. “He has a pearly touch, a sense of history, a sense of drama, a love of the blues, and a sense of elegance that is born of high minded dedication.” The concert is preceded by a happy hour reception.
