Converse Opera Theater Presents: Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers
The Petrie School of Music invites you to experience Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Gondoliers, a sparkling comic operetta filled with romance, unforgettable music, and delightful surprises. Set against the sunlit canals of Venice and the whimsical kingdom of Barataria, the story follows two carefree gondoliers whose lives are turned upside down when they discover that one of them may be the rightful king. What follows is a joyful adventure of mistaken identities, unexpected twists, and plenty of laughter.
Overflowing with witty dialogue, vibrant choruses, and some of Gilbert & Sullivan’s most beloved music, The Gondoliers is a celebration of love, friendship, and the idea that true worth has little to do with social status. Join us for an evening of charm, humor, and timeless entertainment that continues to delight audiences more than a century after its premiere.
