Gifted Endorsement Course — EDU591: Nature and Needs of the Gifted and Talented
Course Format: Online
Fall/Jan Course Dates: 11/13/2023 – 2/4/2024 (Application Deadline: 10/27/2023) 7 Sections
Summer Course Dates: 4/22/2024 – 6/28/2024 (Application Deadline: 2/26/2024) 3 Sections
This is a 10-week course. Two weeks have been added to allow for the holiday break
Gifted Endorsement Course — EDU592: Curriculum and Instruction for the Gifted and Talented
Course Format: Online
Spring Course Dates: 2/12/2024 – 4/21/2024 (Application Deadline: 12/10/23) 7 Sections

EDU 593 — Advanced Curriculum in Gifted Education
Course Format: Online

Advanced Gifted Course — EDU526: Identification and Issues in Gifted Education
Course Format: Online

Advanced Gifted Course EDU599: Creativity Institute
Course Format: Face-to-Face Location: Converse University – Spartanburg Campus
Summer Course Dates: 4/13/2024 & 6/10/2024–6/14/24
Times: 9:30 am -3:30 pm
Application Deadline: 2/28/24
Upon notification of acceptance, a $100 registration fee is required to hold your seat in the course. The registration fee will be returned upon successful completion of the course. Course is limited to 15 participants.

Seating Priority for GT Endorsement courses, EDU 591 and EDU 592
PLEASE NOTE: * Maximum enrollment in each endorsement class is 25. If confirmation of applicant priority level is needed, priority confirmation requests will be sent with course registration information. Confirmation of priority is required from the applicant’s principal or gifted coordinator. Seats will be awarded based on the following priorities:
- First priority (highest level)—teachers who have already completed one of the two endorsement classes and are currently teaching GT students, and GT district coordinators who do not have the required credential of GT endorsement.
- Second priority (middle level A)—teachers who are currently teaching GT students and have not taken an endorsement class or those who have completed one class and are assigned to teach GT students for the upcoming year.
- Third priority (middle level B)—teachers who have not completed any courses but are assigned to teach GT students for the upcoming semester or school year.
- Fourth priority (lowest level)—teachers and administrators who have not completed any courses and who are not assigned to teach GT
