Founded in 1944 and located on the side of Twichell Auditorium, The Lawson Academy of the Arts provides children and adults in the Upstate community with a wide array of opportunities to explore and study music. The Academy serves 1,000 families each year, offering kindermusik, Suzuki, strings, guitar, woodwinds, brass, voice, piano, organ, ensembles, jazz, music theory, and music composition. Courses are taught by Converse graduate and undergraduate students, faculty members, and artists from the Spartanburg community.

Parking: Public parking is available at the Fairview parking lot on North Fairview Avenue.
