With the help of the Converse College Art Club, you can help people in need, bid on artwork, take home a uniquely designed ceramic bowl, and put a little spice in your life…all for only $10.
On Nov. 27 at 5: 00 p.m., the club will host a “Some Like it Hot” chili dinner and silent art auction on the Milliken Gallery patio at Converse. Proceeds will benefit the Spartanburg Downtown Rescue Mission and the Art Club. Individual $10 tickets can be purchased at the door.
Before being served, dinner guests will select a handmade ceramic bowl for their chili. The bowls can be taken home as a keepsake. The art sale will include prints of student work, some of which date back almost 30 years.
In addition to helping the Spartanburg Downtown Rescue Mission, some of the proceeds from the sale will be used to send several Converse students to the National Conference on Education in the Ceramic Arts next spring in Kansas City, Missouri. The remaining funds will be used for service projects and the annual juried art show held each spring.
