Students Serve Food to Homeless, Abuse Victims and AIDS Patients in Washington During Spring Break
While many of their peers across the country are enjoying a relaxing spring break, a group of Converse College students will team with students from Franklin College (Franklin, Indiana) to spend their vacation in Washington, D.C. serving food to victims of domestic violence, homeless women and people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses. The Converse group will also tour the nation’s capitol, meet with U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) and with representatives of Bread for the World, a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad.
Led by Converse Chaplain Jason Loscuito, the Converse team will leave the campus Saturday, March 29 at 6 a.m. and return at approximately 2:30 Friday, April 4.

Sunday, March 30
9:45 am: Sunday School at Calvary Baptist Church
11:00 am: Worship Service at Calvary
12:30 pm: Sightseeing
4:00 pm: Dinner Preparation
6:00 pm: Dinner
7:30 pm: Reflection and Downtime

9:00 am: Food and Friends/DC Central Kitchen Service
1:00 pm: Volunteer Training-Calvary Women’s Shelter
3:30 pm: Tour of the Capitol
6:00 pm: Dinner
