Converse Students Meet with Legislators

On April 23rd, five Converse College students traveled to Columbia, S.C. to express their appreciation to the state’s General Assembly for the S.C. Tuition Grants Program.

The visit was part of Independent College and University Day in S.C., and the Converse group was joined by students from private colleges throughout the state. The event was coordinated by South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc. (SCICU).

The visit was the highlight of Independent College and University Week in S.C. (April 20-26, 2003), which had been proclaimed by Gov. Mark Sanford.
