Converse Student Government Association is accepting donations of formal dresses for their second annual Peppermint Project, designed to enable students in need to “look as pretty as a peppermint” at the Winter Ball. Founded by SGA president Briana Bateman last year, the project collected more than 60 gowns in its first year and helped 28 students attend the event. Converse alumnae, friends, faculty, staff and students contributed enthusiastically to the cause.

“An important part of this project is the wonderful display of community and sisterhood that Converse demonstrates in looking out for one another.”

“”I started this initiative because of my passion for the women at Converse. Many students have not been able to attend formal dances in years past due to lack of funds for dresses,” said Bateman. “Last year’s response was incredible. I think an important part of this project is the wonderful display of community and sisterhood that Converse demonstrates in looking out for one another.”

Dresses can be dropped off in the SGA Suite of the Montgomery Student Building at Converse. For more information, contact Briana Bateman at briana.bateman@converse.edu.
