Please join us for a public reading by Converse alum and author Susan Zurenda ’77 of her novel Girl at the Red Rose Motel, followed by a panel discussion with community leaders, working to addressed housing insecurity and displacement in the Spartanburg area.

Panelists include Colin Bauer, Well Being Coordinator, Spartanburg School District 7; Jessica Case Holland ’03, Attorney; Marilyn Nguyen, Equity & Inclusion Officer, City of Spartanburg; and Hannah Jarrett, Director, A Place Called Home.

Zurenda’s novel, Girl at the Red Rose Motel, will be available for purchase at the event for $27 per copy (cash, credit card, and check accepted).
