“Direct Experience” is a group exhibition that highlights the voices of artists who are cancer survivors. The goal of this exhibition is to affirm that “life after cancer” not only exists but thrives—especially through the healing, expressive, and transformative power of art.
This group exhibition highlights artists whose work reflects personal resilience, physical and emotional recovery, and the evolving narratives of identity and creativity post-diagnosis. The work in “Direct Experience” pushes traditional boundaries of media, engages the senses, and invites dialogue on survival and hope.
This group exhibition will run from August 6 through September 3, 2026.
The “Direct Experience” reception will be held on August 20, 2026, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM.
Milliken Art Gallery Hours
The exhibition is located in the Milliken Art Gallery and is free of charge.
Gallery hours are Sunday 2-5 PM; Monday – Friday 9-5 PM.
The Gallery is closed during school holidays.
