Lee Givins

Assistant Professor of Education, Chair of Professional Leadership

Dr. Lee Givins serves the faculty of the Education Department as the Director of Administrator Certification Programs, Director of the Professional Leadership Doctoral Program, and Department Chair.

Prior to Converse, he served the students of Greenville County as a teacher, coach, and administrator for 28 years. He served as a middle school principal for 11 of those years. Dr. Givins academic preparation includes a B.S. in Social Studies from The Citadel, a M.A. in Educational Administration from Furman University, an Education Specialist in Educational Leadership from The University of South Carolina, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from The University of South Carolina. Dr. Givins is married to Lynne Givins, an educator in Spartanburg School District One. Together they have two daughters who are graduates of South Carolina Public Schools.

In his spare time, Dr. Givins enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife enjoy exploring the antique shops of the upstate. He also enjoys taking long weekends in Charleston visiting with his daughters and taking in the sights and tastes of the low-country.
