Laura-Clare Thevenet ’19 returned to her alma mater in January of 2020 to join the Admissions Team, working with School of the Arts students.

Throughout her life, work obligations moved the Thevenet family around the country quite a bit, but Laura-Clare grew up mainly in Forest, Mississippi and Sumter, South Carolina, spending her summers with family in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Eventually, her college search brought her to Converse’s Petrie School of Music where she graduated cum laude and earned her Bachelor of Musical Arts in Contemporary Music and Media Applications and a Certificate in Music Business and Technology.

Previously, she worked at the Spartanburg Philharmonic as the Communications Coordinator. She continues to be a contributing author for their HearHere program and blogs.

Laura-Clare is excited and honored to return to her alma mater after calling it home for so many years. Her true passion is facilitating shared experiences through the arts and sharing the magic of Converse with her students.

Laura-Clare currently resides in Spartanburg where she loves spending time with her family and her two pets, Nyx (cat) and Dexter (dog) and enjoys connecting to her Cajun roots by learning to cook family recipes. She continues to be a freelance musician, performing with her band, Fernwood Rising, all across the Upstate area.
