Not a native to Spartanburg, Laura-Clare grew up in Forest, Mississippi and Sumter, South Carolina. Eventually, her college search brought her to Spartanburg where she attended Converse College and earned her Bachelor of Musical Arts in Contemporary Music and Media Applications. She also holds a Certificate in Music Business and Technology. While at Converse, she participated in the Converse Chorale, several contemporary music ensembles, international music fraternity Delta Omicron, and also served as an Orientation Leader. Previously, she worked at the Spartanburg Philharmonic as the Communications Coordinator. Additionally, she is a trained musician, having studied voice and guitar for several years and is a freelance musician and singer-songwriter.
Laura-Clare is excited to be returning to her alma mater after calling it home for so many years. Her true passion is facilitating shared experiences through the arts, and she believes that a liberal arts education is essential in producing successful, well-rounded members of society.
She resides in Spartanburg with her best friend, who is a fellow Converse graduate, and their cat, Onyx.
