Janet R. LeFrancois
Dr. LeFrancois graduated with a BA in psychology from Converse College and a MA and PhD in psychology from West Virginia University. During that time, Dr. LeFrancois received the outstanding graduate teaching assistant award and the valued friend award from the university’s minority students organization. She did research in the area of behavior analysis which resulted in several publications and participation in a symposium on verbal behavior held in Bad Kreunach, Germany.
At Converse, she teaches History and Philosophy of Psychology, Psychology of Women and Senior Seminar in Psychology. As a Certified Iyengar yoga teacher, she combines her knowledge of psychology and yoga in her courses on Introduction to Yoga, Yoga and Stress Management, and Women’s Wellbeing and Yoga. This interest has also led her to research the effects of yoga on sleep, the effects of yoga on blood pressure, and the effects of yoga on self-esteem.
