Ericka Tyner Grodrian ’02 serves as the Director of Annual Giving. She enjoys supporting her alma mater through philanthropic work, helping to advance the mission so that students can continue to experience the transformative power of a Converse education.

Dr. Grodrian was previously a tenured professor of music, and has worked in higher education for 22 years. She earned her doctorate from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, and built the popular, peer-reviewed website Beyond the Short Call as an outgrowth of her dissertation. Her research is frequently used by opera companies including The Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Sydney Opera House, and Opera Atlanta. She is the Division Winner of the 2010 Susan Slaughter International Brass Solo Competition.

Away from Philanthropy, Ericka continues to perform professionally as a classical musician and enjoys listening to podcasts, watching Sci-Fi, and spending time with her husband, John, and their black standard poodles, Dexter and Ziggy Stardust.
