Ann M. Pletcher
Dean Pletcher retired in May 2019.
Dean Pletcher completed her undergraduate degree in economics and management at Albion College where she also completed the liberal arts program in professional management. She went on to earn her MBA at Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago. She has been a member of the Converse faculty since 1984. She began her career in the internal auditing department of Manufacturer’s National Bank of Detroit and moved into managerial accounting while employed with Molex Corporation in Illinois. Her experience at Molex included profit planning analysis and cost accounting. Prior to teaching at Converse, she taught at Beaufort County Community College in North Carolina.
Dean Pletcher earned the Certified Management Accountant designation in 1988 and is a member of the ICMA and the Spartanburg area chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants. She is also an academic member of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and in 2010, the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants honored Dean Pletcher with its Outstanding Accounting Educator award.
Her areas of interest include managerial or cost accounting, systems development and technology. At Converse she teaches Intermediate Accounting I, Business and Accounting Information Systems, Cost Accounting I & II, Advanced Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Senior Seminar and Student Success Seminars. In 2002, she won the Kathryne Amelia Brown Teaching Award. In 2010, the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants honored Dean Pletcher with its Outstanding Accounting Educator award.
As the former Dean of the School of Humanities, Sciences, and Business, Dean Pletcher focused on supervision and support of department chairs, the professional development of the faculty within the School of Humanities, Sciences, and Business and support of students in the academic program.
