Art & Design Facilities
Converse’s Milliken Fine Arts Building provides everything students need to learn sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, drawing, and painting. Facilities include:
- CAD and MAC computer labs
- Large-format Epson Printers
- Photography darkroom and digital printing
- Dedicated painting and drawing studios
- Ceramics spaces for both wheelwork and hand-building
- Ceramics kiln yard for electric and gas firing
- Student “mini gallery” for installation work
- Sculpture wood shop and metal fabrication studio
- Outdoor sculpture courtyard for large-scale work and blacksmithing
- Senior student BFA studios
- Faculty studio lofts

Milliken Art Gallery
Featuring glass walls on two sides, Milliken Art Gallery provides an exhibit space with visual access to exhibitions around the clock. During much of the year, the gallery is filled with the work of a wide variety of professional artists. In addition to exhibiting, our visiting artists present workshops and lectures that are open to the public. In April and May, the gallery displays exhibits by Converse students.
Gallery Hours:
Mon – Fri: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sun: 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Milliken Art Gallery is closed during school holidays and breaks.
