EXHIBITION: Canvas Connections: A Retrospective of Alumni Talent
February 5 @ 9:00 am - March 5 @ 5:00 pm

The Milliken Art Gallery celebrates the strength of Converse University’s Department of Art, Design & Letters alumni with the presentation of a new exhibition opening on February 5, 2026. Canvas Connections: A Retrospective of Alumni Talent will showcase the work of six alumni who graduated from the Department of Art, Design & Letters at Converse University. Each artist has grown in artistic practice since graduating, taking on new media and shifting subject matter that progressed from their original course of study. In addition to their campus connection, the work of these artists share overarching themes of memory, nostalgia, storytelling and the idea of their work being more than what meets the eye at first glance.
The featured alumni artists are: Harriet “Sister” Marshall Goode ’59, Linda Gritta ’04, Nancy O’Dell Keim ’92, Carolyn Kerecman ’19, Maggie Macdonald ’19 and Caren Stansell ’16. The artworks will include drawings, paintings, mixed media, and printmaking.
Canvas Connections: A Retrospective of Alumni Talent will run from February 5 – March 5, 2026. An opening reception will be held in the gallery on February 5, 2026, beginning at 6 PM.
The exhibition is located in the Milliken Art Gallery and is free of charge. Gallery hours are Sunday – Thursday 2 – 5 PM. The Gallery is closed during school holidays.
