Leah Anderson
Leah Anderson has more than two decades of experience in the marketing and communications industry. She joined Converse University in 2012 and, over the past several years, her responsibilities have evolved from working within the Office of Communications to her current role as Chief of Staff. In this position, Leah collaborates closely with the President and Senior Leadership to achieve strategic excellence. Her work includes helping to build an atmosphere of shared understanding around the university’s mission, vision, and goals, as well as fostering clarity and coordination in communication efforts across campus and with the Board of Trustees.
Prior to joining the Converse community, Leah served as Director of Alumni Relations at the University of South Carolina Upstate. She began her professional career helping to launch a nonprofit organization that supported the nonmedical needs of South Carolina families with children battling cancer. She later worked for Morris Communications’ corporate division as a National Event Marketing Manager, where she developed and led innovative, revenue-generating programs.
Leah is passionate about supporting her community through volunteerism. She is a past president and current sustainer of the Junior League of Spartanburg, where she has helped advance the League’s mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Leah is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a degree in public relations from the College of Mass Communications and Information Sciences. Leah is married to Patrick Anderson and they have two sons: James and Pierce.
