Siegwart Reichwald

Siegwart Reichwald is associate professor of music history at Converse College where, in addition to teaching, he also conducts the Converse Symphony Orchestra. His book, The Genesis of Felix Mendelssohn’s Paulus, dealt with the compositional process of Mendelssohn’s oratorio Paulus. He is the author of articles on music by Mendelssohn, Brumel, and Poulenc. His principal research interests are in the music of Felix Mendelssohn, the Classic/Romantic period and orchestral performance practice. He recently edited Mendelssohn in Performance, a collection of essays dealing with performance practice issues in the music Felix Mendelssohn.
