The Kathryne Amelia Brown Award will be presented to a faculty member. \nThis year’s keynote speaker is Jody Cole ’84 of Asheville\, NC\, Founder of Wild Rainbow African Safaris and 2024 recipient of the Mae Elizabeth Kilgo Spirit of Converse Award for alumni. \nThis event will be live-streamed on Converse’s YouTube channel. \nImmediately following the ceremony\, attendees are invited to the traditional Founders Day lunch outside of Wilson on the Johnson Plaza to enjoy Dexter Edgar Converse’s favorite dessert\, strawberries and cream. \nClasses will be canceled between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM to allow for campus-wide celebrations. \nConverse faculty\, staff\, and students can learn more about this event at my.converse.edu.

DESCRIPTION:The Spartanburg community is invited to join us on December 4\, 2025\, to enjoy the annual Festival of Lessons and Carols in Twichell Auditorium. The program starts at 7:30 PM. \nTickets are not required for this event. \nFestival of Lessons and Carols celebrates the Christmas season with traditional carols and hymns\, along with student-led scripture readings. Spartanburg Master Chorale\, Converse Wind Ensemble\, and Converse Chorale will perform these beloved\, traditional songs between the readings. The audience will be invited to sing along in many segments of the service. \nIn addition to the two Christmas trees on Twichell stage\, luminaries will line the front campus for the evening’s glow. DESCRIPTION:Commencement is a ticketed event. Here is what you need to know: \n\nSeniors will not receive their tickets until account(s) are cleared and the mandatory graduation survey is complete.\nA link to a graduation survey will be sent via email to your Converse email address. You MUST complete the survey by Friday\, May 9\, 2025\, to receive tickets for Commencement.\nOnce the above is complete\, complimentary tickets will be reserved through the Converse Box Office during the week of Commencement.\nTickets will be issued UNTIL Friday\, May 16\, 2025\, at 12:00 (noon).\n\nCurrently\, four (4) complimentary tickets will be available to each graduating senior. You will be notified via Converse email if this number changes due to restrictions or limits. \nTickets will be issued in each senior’s name and will be available for pick up on Wednesday\, May 14\, 2025\, and Thursday\, May 15\, 2025\, from 12 pm – 1 pm in Wilson Lobby and prior to rehearsal in Gee at 3 pm on Thursday\, May 15\, 2025. \nThere will be no tickets for purchase; at this time\, the University cannot commit to any additional tickets. DESCRIPTION:The Spartanburg community is invited to join us on December 5\, 2024\, at 7:30 PM to enjoy the annual Festival of Lessons and Carols in Twichell Auditorium. The prelude will begin at 7:30 PM with the program starting at 8:00 PM. \nFestival of Lessons and Carols celebrates the Christmas season with traditional carols and hymns\, along with student-led scripture readings. Spartanburg Festival Chorus\, Converse Wind Ensemble and Converse Chorale will perform these beloved\, traditional songs between the readings. The audience will be invited to sing along in many segments of the service. \nIn addition to the two Christmas trees on Twichell stage\, luminaries will line the front campus for the evening’s glow. Luminary submissions that are received by Friday\, November 8\, 2024 will be recognized during The Festival of Lessons and Carols program. \nYou can watch the 2024 Festival of Lessons and Carols on our YouTube channel. \nFunds collected from the sale of luminaries will be contributed to the Student Benevolence Fund. \nFestival of Lessons and Carols is free and open to the public.
