Dr. Martin is a clinical psychologist who joined the psychology faculty in Fall 2016. Her primary clinical and research interests fall within the domain of adult psychopathology. More specifically, her research focuses on the impact of emotional expectation and current mood states on experience, behaviors, and emotional regulation in conditions such as social anxiety and schizotypy. She has conducted studies utilizing diverse research methods ranging from experimental laboratory studies to more ecologically valid experience sampling to capture in-the-moment emotional responses.

Dr. Martin received her B.A. from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul Minnesota where she double majored in Business Management and Psychology. She then took a gap year to travel and work in Melbourne, Australia. Following, she earned her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Minnesota State University and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Central Michigan University. Dr. Martin completed her predoctoral internship at the Battle Creek VA. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, crafting, and playing cards.
