Dr. Behravan joined the department in 2017 as an Assistant Professor of Physics. Her Doctorate is in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics from Michigan State University. Dr. Behravan completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Michigan and Tufts University.

Dr. Behravan’s research includes 1.) attachment of normal and unhealthy cells -such as cancer cells- and the effect on cell attachment by introduction of anti-inflammatories as measured by impedance sensing, 2.) cell membrane potential using voltage-sensitive dyes. Dr. Behravan is looking for precursors to diseases that may affect the cell membrane and effective drugs for improving membrane functions, and 3) electrical transport properties of thin films (such as thin-film transistor and diamond) and frequency-dependent (1/f) noise properties of polycrystalline silicon thin-film transistor (poly-Si TFT) devices, specifically the effect of the poly-Si TFT structure and the oxide-semiconductor interface on the 1/f noise level of poly-Si TFTs.

Converse College offices will be closed November 25 through November 27. Offices will reopen Monday, November 30 at 8:30 am.
