The Masters Series at Converse is a purposeful gathering of Converse alumnae with the goal of continued professional development. These workshops are hands-on and relevant to the ever-changing classroom landscape. Speakers are always graduates or faculty of Converse College.
Certificates for 1 hour of recertification credit will be available for attendees.
Jessica Wilkerson is a MAT graduate from Converse College and the co-founder of Higher Than I (HTI) Mentoring Program at Gaffney High School. As a high school Biology Teacher and Direct Support Personnel at a Faith Group Home, she has learned many tips and strategies for motivating and empowering at-risk youth.
She uses her HTI platform to promote community involvement, college/career readiness, and early intervention based on the National Dropout Prevention Trauma Skilled Model. Currently she is working towards her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction/Science Education with an emphasis on Engaging At-Risk Youth in Science Education.
